Tai Chi Styles
Learn Chen-style Tai Chi Forms, Push Hands, Weapons and Qi Gong...
The charm of Chinese martial arts (or Wushu) lies in its dual training of body and mind. Through practicing martial arts, people can achieve harmony and balance between body and mind. In the world of martial arts, students must not only learn how to use the power of their bodies, but also learn how to control their emotions and how to maintain inner peace and concentration. Every sweaty training is a test of will; every stand up again after failure is a test of courage.
All of the following styles of Tai Chi and martial arts are part of our weekly training schedule. If you want, you can train full-time of all the forms (or styles).
Tai Chi
Tai chi is an ancient Chinese martial art. Initially developed for combat and self-defense, it has evolved into a sport and form of exercise. Tai chi is a gentle, low-impact form of exercise in which practitioners perform a series of deliberate, flowing motions while focusing on deep, slow breaths. Often referred to as “meditation in motion,” tai chi aims to concentrate and balance the body’s qi (vital energy), providing benefits to mental and physical health.
The Chen-style tai chi is a Northern Chinese martial art and the original form of tai chi. Chen-style is characterized by silk reeling, alternating fast and slow motions, and bursts of power (fa jin).
